Celebrating Pasig City’s Bambino Festival 2023

I just came home from taking pictures of the Bambino Festival 2023 here at Pasig City and I have like 300+ pictures of this event. I’ll trim it down and select fewer pictures to post. For the meantime, here are random shots from today’s Bambino Festival 2023.

McDonald’s A Sandoval Avenue, Pinagbuhatan To Open Soon

This would be the closest McDonald’s (or any fastfood chain for that matter) to our place in Nagpayong, Pinagbuhatan, Pasig City.

McDonalds would soon open it’s branch along A Sandoval Avenue in Pinagbuhatan (near Villa Alegre) in Pasig City. I’m a huge fan of their Chicken Ala King and their Sausage McMuffin.

The New Plaza Bonifacio Linear Park, Pasig City

Congratulations to our City Government of Pasig City for its successful redevelopment of the New Plaza Bonifacio Linear Park. It’s an area formerly occupied by McDonald’s Kapasigan besides the Pasig City Museum. This was inaugurated on November 23, 2018.

The marker reads:

Redevelopment of the New Plaza Bonifacio Linear Park

Aling pag-ibig pa ang higit kaya sa pagkadalisay

at pagkadakila gaya ng pag-ibig sa tinubuang lupa?

Aling pag-ibig? Wala na nga… Wala… -Andres Bonifacio

The Redevelopment of the New Plaza Bonifacio Linear Park at Alkalde Jose Street and F. Concepcion Street, Barangay Kapasigan, Pasig City started as a Serbisyong _ Puso administration of Mayor Maria Belen A. Eusebio.

Aside from the monument to serve as a tribute to the great Supremo of the Katipunan, Gat Andres Bonifacio, this area has been designed to be a venue for people to converge and find solace and inspiration, as one journeys on through life _ a modern heroes.

It has a fountain pool to refresh the spirit, a cafeteria with al fresco dining to flourish the body, a grand staircase to inspire the soul, a parking area for the convenience of promenaders and urban landscaping to boost our commitment to the preservation of our natural landscape, towards a green, livable and sustainable Pasig City.

Inaugurated this 23rd day of November, 2018.

Hon Robert C. Eusebio

City Mayor

McDonald’s Pasig Caruncho (Palengke) Opens May 31, 2017

McDo logo

McDonald’s newest store in Pasig City – Pasig Caruncho (in the Palengke area) will open in May 31, 2017 Wednesday. This is the date announced by the store printed on a tarpaulin.

This is the latest store that will open in this part of town – after Chowking. The new McDonald’s store is just beside the Jollibee-Palengke. If you’re coming from Pasig Simbahan on your way to Palengke, you’ll pass by Chowking and KFC along Caruncho Avenue.

I’m excited since I’m a McDonald’s person. This new location is more convenient for me (the old Kapasigan Branch adjacent to the Pasig City Museum closed recently).

See you guys at the opening!

Banco De Oro (BDO) A. Sandoval Avenue, Pinagbuhatan

bdo

Finally, a Banco De Oro (BDO) branch near my location. BDO A. Sandoval Avenue, Pinagbuhatan, Pasig City is set to open in a few days. It’s located besides Villa Alegre and opposite Guzman Lugawan in Pinagbuhatan, along A. Sandoval Avenue. It occupies the ground floor of Isagabanna Building.

When I do withdraw from BDO, I bike from Nagpayong, Pinagbuhatan all the way to either BDO Mercedez Branch or BDO A. Mabini Branch (Kapasigan, downtown Pasig City). I seldom withdraw from BDO near the Pasig Mega Market since it’s swarming with people.

I guess it’s a good idea to open a bank account here, closer to home. I’m glad BPO is finding ways to serve their customers better.

South Star Drug Nagpayong Opens

Nagpayong is a sub-barangay (or Sitio, Satellite) of Barangay Pinagbuhatan, Pasig City. It’s the last area in Pasig City that you’ll come across along Sandoval Avenue on your way to San Lorenzo Ruiz, Taytay, Rizal. The Pasig City Jail, Bahay Aruga, Nagpayong Elementary School, and Centennial Homes are some of the landmarks that you’ll see here.

Today, South Star Drug Nagpayong opens. It’s located along Sandoval Avenue right beside the Nagpayong Sub-Barangay (Satellite) Hall. South Star Drug is a chain of drugstores in the country that was established in 1937 in Naga City. Today, South Star Drug (a.k.a. SSD) has more than 250 branches in Central Luzon, Southern Tagalog, Metro Manila and Bicol Region.

The opening of South Star Drug Nagpayong is a major improvement in this part of Pasig City. With a huge number of residents, I’m pretty sure South Star Drug Nagpayong will flourish. Hopefully, other major stores like 7-11 will also open a branch here.
