Finally, after several months of planning, we had our overnight swimming at Guiginto, Bulacan. My boss and coworkers did an excellent job in finding this great resort – Villa Salvacion. The name itself sounds like salvation – an escape from the busy hustle and bustle life at the city and office.
Our office is located at Vertis North and we met at the nearby P2P bus station (between Trinoma and Vertis North, those yellow buses). There’s no route to Plaridel (it’s in SM North EDSA) but there were buses plying Malolos City. It’s a P2P bus so even though we wanted to drop off at the Tabang Exit, we were not allowed.
The P2P bus took us to Robinson’s Mall Malolos City. We crossed the overpass and rode a mini-bus going to Balagtas. We dropped off at the Tabang Exit, crossed the road and rode a jeepney in the direction of Plaridel, Bulacan. It’s just a few minutes ride and the subdivision where Villa Salvacion is located is just across St Agatha Homes, Guiginto. There’s a tricycle station and the fare is P20/person.
Villa Salvacion is huge. It has 4 bedrooms with individual toilet and bath. There’s a kitchen, a grilling area, a pool area and a dining space. It helps that it’s open planning so it looks really large with high ceiling and industrial design. Sliding glass doors were used and yes, I bumped into it the next day. There’s no yellow warning sign for those who are already drunk!
The room I slept in can accommodate three people. It has glass windows near the ceiling which gives natural light. Unfortunately, there were no side table nor a desk for things. There were also no cabinets, not even a standing cloth’s hanger so that sucks. Plus the bidet of the T&B on our room is not working. I love the concept of the outdoor lavatory and plants outside of the room. Yes the T&B is outside of the room so you’re stepping outside a concrete paved area with plants on pots before reaching the loo.
The swimming pool is located at the middle of the property so it’s accessible from the 4 rooms and from the dining area. Water’s not cold – it’s “maligamgam” which is relaxing. Even at night, the water is not that cold which is great. The pool is of decent size with an umbrella similar to Starbucks on one end of the pool and a covered lounge area in the other.
Over-all I’ll give this resort a 4/5 for its price of P16,00 for 22 hours, from 9:00 AM to 7:00 AM the next day. From Villa Salvacion, we rode a tricycle up to the FX terminal in the Sta Rita Exit going to Trinoma. I would love to return to this resort for another occasion. Hopefully our year-end reunion this December with my high school classmates.
